Desk Diary 2013/02 – Numbers
Fabrice Requin
Hello and welcome to my blog. This blog is considered my haven when everything...
It feels like I’ve been sleeping since New Years day, Dreaming my life away. Anyway writing from my parents home in London, its a Diary post today although their is nothing really interesting to report on but maybe thats just me being a grumpy pot. Lets start with the blogshpere and a few updates concerning this site. Ive recently received a data report on my blog’s activity in 2012 from WordPress and I must say there was a lot of activity more so than the previous. Lets share a few points:
Crunchy Numbers
If 19,000 people can fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. This blog was viewed about 76,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it!
In 2012, I wrote 158 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 237 posts.
The busiest day of 2012 was January 22nd with 7,446 views. The most popular post that day was Holo on the Great Wall of China.

My facebook page has reached a total of 300 likes, my twitter account has also risen to 409 followers while in my google plus 163 people have me in their circles. These are incredible numbers which I never thought I would have when I first started so Im deeply grateful to everyone who liked, followed and added me.
So too conclude 2012 was a very successful year for blogging even if I had a few inactivity. Nevertheless I hope it continues but only through your support which I will work hard to maintain our already good relationship.
Now In other news related to Arsenal (football team I support for new readers), I officially became a red member a few weeks ago receiving my membership card, It was a proud moment and since, booked a few games to watch at the Emirates Stadium, the recent game being Arsenal vs Liverpool 2 days ago which finished 2 all. The stadium is wonderful and for those fans criticizing Arsene Wenger and the board for lack of ambition really im sure haven’t been to the stadium.
I know its been 8 years without trophy but as fans we need to keep the faith and stick with the team. My next game will be on Saturday where they will play against Stoke, will be a physical game but im confident the team will pull through and get the 3 points, im expecting Giroud to add a physical presence and bully their defence. Come on you gooners!
I just realised that the last acquired Figure I bought was in January being the Beatless – Lacia – 1/8 by Good Smile Company. Im glad to say that the wait is over, well until I receive them. I just ordered myself Steins;Gate – Amane Suzuha by Alter, Mawaru Penguindrum’s – Princess of the Crystal by GSC and Nisemonogatari – Araragi Karen again by GSC, all 3 being PVC 1/8 figures. Further, Ive also ordered both Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb – Miyako and Yuno Nendoroid by GSC. So my figure collection is finally going to be increased and looking forward in getting them.
Finally for today, my friend Wibi who Ive mentioned quite a few times here has a new blog makeover called Vivid Country. You guys should check it out especially for travel enthusiasts. He has been writing up a lot on Bali which is a great place to go on holiday. Youll also find stories on Japan and Perth.
Right, that’s that, back soon with some kind of post. Until then.

Hi Fab, you had many nice post this year with so many cool far off locations.
Of course I found them really entertaining and interesting, I would have liked to be there myself.
Hehe cool to know that I left 70 comments in the last year, I hope Im not to straightforward sometimes.
Yay for new figures ^_^, Karen is really sweet, I will have to save up to be able to get her in the end.
Thanks as always!
Lets see what this year will turn out to be, talking about comments do you happen to know how much I left on your blog?
I told myself that for the new year, ill try and interact more with fellow bloggers.
Used to have that laptop! FW series?
Correct, its the FW56GF! 2 years i have and still working well!
Those are some really nice numbers, Fabrice! I’m glad your blog has become this popular even though I don’t really support some of the sites the viewers come from, but what can you do, haha. I hope it will be another successful year for you and your blog. I’ll surely stick around and try to knock Wieselhead off the top commenters chart. Some rivalry among fellow Germans will boost the popularity of this site greatly, I promise, haha. No, I’m just playing around. Have a great year, mate, you and your team!
Those figures up there look great. Well chosen, my friend. IMAGINE!
If you don’t mind, I’ll just continue our Twitter conversation here. 140 characters is sometimes not enough and TwitLonger can be annoying. Anyway, I don’t currently have any recommendations for you blog, besides the fact that you might need a spell checker on your team :b, but that really is not that big of a deal. The messages come across just fine. Maybe you could add a small image of Horo as a favicon.ico. Your blog currently doesn’t seem to have one.
The company I mentioned doesn’t do console games. It’s not that big of a company, about 70 people are currently employed. They create online games and yesterday I had a Skype call with the Englishman responsible for localization. It doesn’t look bad, so we’ll see how it turns out. I’d really love to get a job in the gaming industry.
I did notice your tweets about Arsenal lately, I bet the games were a lot of fun. I know Bayern is going strong at the moment but I can’t really stand them. So please help Arsenal defeat them by chanting ferociously!
Hi cyruz, thanks for the comment and thanks again for the support! I know what you mean, having viewers coming from sites like sankaku especially might not be that good but surprisingly there were a couple of them that really loved our trips with Holo and are still supportive till this day. Im hoping too that 2013 will be another good year but thats up to me where ill try my best to keep this blog consistent in terms of writing (Ill make sure to double check mine and the other guys spelling ^^, we tend to write without going through it which well its def not good). Anyway, Great! im looking forward to that German rivalry!
Ill look at what I can do with the favicon, true it does look plain having nothing. Will draw up some samples.
On to you, that still sounds pretty cool, 70 people is still quite a number, well im not sure how many you need to make games and all but ye from the sounds of it, it has potential. I know someone in the game industry but I dont know whether being a game tester counts. Will you be behind the scenes?
I don’t know yet where exactly I’ll be. First, I’ll have to make it happen and then I might translate behind the scenes or do community work for Q&A’s and FAQ’s.
What a success… I’m happy for you, as your follower… Those digits shall blow this year!
G
Glad to see that your followers are steadily increasing, that’s quite an accomplishment. I’m still waiting for my Princess of the Crystal figure, I hope it turns out well.
