Hello and welcome to my blog. This blog is considered my haven when everything...

I hope you enjoyed Holo’s last adventure at the Merlion. Continuing our Project in the sunny but humid at the same time Singapore, I decided to add something a little different into our plans for our next stop. Spanning almost 2.2 km is a swanky, tree-lined one-way boulevard flanked by distinctive shopping malls and hotels. It is Singapore’s retail and entertainment hub of the city-state and is regularly frequented by the local population as well as being a major tourist attraction, that is Orchard road.

Orchard Road is considered by many a must do, even for those on a budget. If you need a place to empty your pockets then this is the place to go. It consists of all the Who is most definitely Who in fashion name brands. It is such a important place for shoppers that it is literally the first thing visitors do when they arrive in Singapore. We headed straight to Orchard Road at around noon from The Merlion. While I was attending AFA11, I made sure my sister Kelsey would bring Wibi around Singapore but it seems that when they went to Orchard Road on day one, let says the itinerary stayed the same for the following days… They even planned ahead what we were going to do and eat lunch after The Merlion and completing Holo in Orchard (which we again had Laksa for the nth time!). Back to Holo, we decided to take a stroll down the bizarrely not-so-busy boulevard surroundings and take various shots from ION Orchard > Isetan > Takashiyama trying to capture as much as possible the magic and charms of the Yuletide on Orchard Road.

The highlight for me was definitely the Vending carts. You see even though Singapore has grown and modernized itself so quickly, it still hasnt lost some of its old tradition like the vending carts along orchard road selling ice cream sandwich. The 3 of us and Holo had a quick bite, We all took Durian flavour while unfortunately Holo was put off by the smell!

Anyway this easy-going stroll in Orchard Road is now part of our growing Project Holo catalog – head over here for more in-depth information about the project for those new here. After our planned lunch, I left Wibi and Kelsey and headed for the Culture Japan Night event organised by DannyChoo at the newly opened AKB48 Cafe down at Scape. Was great fun chatting to everyone. The event lasted quite a while but Left early while just in time to reunite with Wibi and Kelsey where we headed to the Airport.

Next stop, The Land of the Rising Sun! stay tuned ~

Location and Information

Orchard Road is the main shopping street of Singapore. North of the Singapore River, to the west of the Central Business District, Orchard Road turns into Bras Basah Road as it heads east.

there is this great architecture from Singapore again, I really like these buildings in your pics ^^

I love the pic where Holo is staring at the ice cream.

  5. Power Rangers wear suits in Singapore it seems.

That little ice cream cart reminded me similar ones that used to exist when I was a kid. A little nostalgic. Isn’t Durian a little strong of a flavor? I bet Holo prefers apple flavored though =P.

  6. Nice photos :D
Holo will travel a lot and see many places thanks to you~
She will have lots of fun *feels kinda jealous :3c* xD

  7. Amusing. Some nice locations with the statues reading the papers, the stall selling ice cream and similar. Awesome. You guys appear to be having fun. The ice cream vendor’s expression is priceless and worth it :P. Can’t wait to see more.

  8. That’s just awesome, Holo is getting around quite a bit. Love the ones of her at the vendor, she seems so natural there. Singapore looks like a such a great place to visit.

  9. Loved the photos even more this time as she was in several places. Not sure how she was able to order from the cart merchant however ????

  10. I haven’t heard of Orchard Road before, I’m going to have to put it down on my list of places to visit. That glass building looks stunning.

    • Wow thats quite weird to have to know it, well at least you have a reason to come back to singapore! =D

  11. oh my god, you actually put the one of me in there. *blocks my face with a finger*
Missing the ice cream man! :)

  12. Haha… I find it quite amusing how people do not even bat at eye when you posed with Horo this time around. That picture of Horo on the cart is pretty cool.

  13. Love this place. Been there but without Holo :(

  14. Wow, that looks rather awesome. *sigh* I wish I could go on a trip too. ^^

    • The impossible is nothing! at first i thought i would never be able to travel with no funds but then if you really want to do it then try as hard as you can to work towards that goal, it does take time, it took me a year and a half to be able to afford and save money from work, but in the end it pays off =D

  15. I bet Lawrence would be jealous. lol. Awesome pictures btw.

  16. I’m ashamed to have found your site through sankaku and not elsewhere but in any case I’m glad I did cuz this is just too awesome! Lawrence got nothing on you. You’ve taken Holo over many more miles than he ever will.

Great photos! I’ll be coming back for more. Oh and does Holo like Durian too?

  17. I like how you can place her to the right of any photo and it looks like she’s looking at the photo’s subject matter. Like photoshop in REAL LIFE.

    • Maybe be too im made into a carboard.. ^^ Well its up too people wether to think its real or not, for sure i can tell you it was haha
