Hello and welcome to my blog. This blog is considered my haven when everything...

Sleeping Salaryman Found many salaryman asleep on the Tokyo Subway.

Later found out that the average Tokyo salaryman has been described as “commuter slave of commuter hell” spending an average of hours each days and years of his life commuting to and from work on trains where there isn’t even enough space to read. I was also told that there are even salaryman with single worst commute to Tokyo=three and half hours each way. You must feel sorry for them :/

  1. That is a rough life :(

  2. 3.5 hours!? That’s insane. I wonder what kind of job would entice someone to commute that far/long.

  3. 3,5 hours o_O, shittt!

  4. At least this guy is politely sleeping on his briefcase, and not sprawled out across three seats. Or, worse, sleeping on my shoulder. :)

  5. I won’t take a job that is over 1 hour a way. No wonder they are sleeping all over the place. I would too if I had to be up at 4 am to be at work by 8am.

    • I think in Japan with all the economic crisis and such, finding a job is so hard nowadays so I guess people would have to accept that consequence well I know they are already.

  6. Man…that’s why these Salarymen are sometimes termed as the Modern Samurai of the Japanese Economy..other than the travelling..can’t forget their frequent ‘Nomiki’ or late night drinking…that’s gonna sap even more energy even before you reached home. =3

  7. People sleeping in public transports on their way to work is a fairly common sight in Hong Kong too, though I’d imagine that it’s much more stressful to work in Japan with higher demands and standards. Alas, I sometimes worry that this will only become more and more common in the future :\

    • Thats true and especially in Japan im scared it might get worse, I know theres a lot of folks like me who wish to live and work in japan but dont realise how hard its going to be :/
