Tamako Market Tamako Market (たまこまーけっと) is an upcoming Japanese anime television series produced by Kyoto Animation (Hyouka, K-ON!, Clannad) and directed by Naoko Yamada (山田 尚子) know for her work at K-ON! (けいおん!). The series will begin airing in Japan on January 10, 2013 on Tokyo MX (東京メトロポリタンテレビジョン株式会社) although there isnt any news on how many episodes it will be.

The story follows Tamako who is a mochi-loving high-school freshman and whose family runs a mochi (rice cake) shop in a certain town’s shopping district. She enjoys her high school life with her friends Midori and Kanna in the badminton club. She also helps out at her family’s shop and develops new mochi.

Here’s hoping they make something as enjoyable as Chuunibyou. Gonna have to wait on some more synopsis infos before I get hyped up, but most likely I’ll watch it anyway. KyoAni always delivers!Tamako Market

  1. It looks great and KyoAni are kings, but I’m not sure if it can be as good as Chuuni. That one had great jokes and sweet animation – hope they can do something gripping with the story.

  2. The look is very K-onish again, they could make a cameo appearance.
    Well, I love KyoAni and moe characters so this will go to my watchlist ^^

  3. I’m not sure if I’ll watch Tamako Market or not. I liked Chuunibyou because it had a good plot, but Tamako Market doesn’t seem to have one.
